Did you know Superman is from Ohio?

I can hear you now saying “Wait just one second!  Superman is from Krypton!”  This is an inarguable fact; however, his earliest roots are in here in Ohio.

Created in 1932 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman is the reason these comic book heroes bear a “Super” moniker.  This is why OHS’s own, Mark Butler, started a petition to make Superman the official superhero of Ohio.  For more information on the petition, Mark, and the Ohio link check out the Other Paper’s article.  The official petition can be found here.

Favorite quote from the article:

“In the 1930s, you had the Nazis proclaiming that they are literally the superman,” [Butler] said. “Yet you had two Jewish kids in Cleveland challenging that.”
