The Forever Free exhibit at the State Library of Ohio is open through April 15, 2011, Monday – Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional information about the exhibit and supplemental programs is available online and in a downloadable brochure.
Several items from the Ohio Historical Society’s Archives and Museum Collections are a part of the case exhibit “Buckeyes for Lincoln,” which features materials illustrating President Lincoln’s strong political ties to Ohio. In 1860 Ohio was one of the most populated, economically powerful, and politically influential states in the nation. Ohio’s political and military support was key to Abraham Lincoln’s election and his ability to wage war. Ohioans held positions in Lincoln’s cabinet and served as his top general.
