Will you be attending the February 21st lecture by Dr. Nelson? I have heard alot about you and would like to meet you… I have been told that you are an expert at identifying artifacts and I want you to take a look at some of mine. If you cannot attend the Ft. Meigs lecture, maybe we can meet somewhere so I can show you what I have. I’d love to hear your opinion.

I have read your biography on this site and you seem like a very interesting and fascinating person.

To anonymous: Thank you for your kind comments and for taking the time to view the Ohio Archaeology Blog. The OHS archaeology staff appreciates and invites your input. We try to support programs at our sites whenever possible and I hope to be available for Dr. Nelson’s lecture. OHS sponsors a number of artifact identification programs at the various sites throughout the year. There will be two such programs at Flint Ridge State Memorial this year. The first is on Sunday, June 8th, 2008, noon to 5 and the second in connection with the annual Flint Ridge Knap-In on the Saturday of Labor day weekend (August 30, 2008). There is also an annual Archaeology Day in mid-October sponsored by the National Park Service at Hopewell Culture National Historic Park (Mound City) near Chillicothe. The public is invited and encouraged to bring in artifacts for identification although at none of these events will artifacts be appraised as to monetary value. If these dates are not convenient feel free to contact the OHS archaeology department through the OHS Call Center @ 614-297-2300 to make arrangements. Thanks again for taking the time to view OHS’s Ohio Archaeology Blog
