We know that people get value from their visits to the Ohio Historical Society’s archives across the state of Ohio. That is why our staff was eager to participate in the Society of American Archivists I Found It In the Archives! national contest.
SAA conceived of I Found It In the Archives! to celebrate both the people who use archives and the history preserved in archives. The contest entry form, release, and waiver can be found here and must accompany all submissions.
Submissions sent by mail should be postmarked on or before January 31, 2012. Selected submissions will be posted to the Ohio Historical Society Collections blog for an online vote.
Online voting will close February 26, 2012. The prize package for the Ohio winner includes a one year family membership to OHS; a voucher for a free genealogy workshop at the Ohio Historical Center in 2012; and a behind the scenes tour of the Center’s archives storage area in Columbus. The winning entry will be submitted to the Society of American Archivists national competition. The national contest will culminate in Chicago, SAA headquarters, in August 2012.
All blog entries related to this contest will be posted here so check back for updates!
