Return to the 1950s

We have just one month to go before 1950s: Building the American Dream opens at the Ohio History Center on July 13.

The center piece of the exhibit is a reconstructed Lustron house, a pre-fabricated, porcelain steel, ranch house that was manufactured in Columbus, Ohio. Read more about what is was like rebuilding a mid 20th century home inside a 21st century museum in an interview with exhibit curator, Cameron Wood, by Columbus Dispatch columnist, Joe Blundo:

One Response to Return to the 1950s

  1. Linda Carew Ejzak says:

I can’t wait to see the Lustron home! Growing up in Mansfield, Ohio in the 1950s, my dad pointed out a Lustron home as we drove by it, and he explained what it was. There are still two in Mansfield that I know about: One is on Glendale Blvd., and one is on Sunset Blvd (last sold in 2012).
