The Ohio Historical Society is looking for home movies to play in an exhibit about the 1950s that will open at the Ohio History Center later this year.

We are really looking for footage that depicts life events like:
- Backyard bar-b-ques
- Children’s birthday parties
- Children dressed up for Halloween and Trick or Treating
- Coming home with a new car
- Bringing a new baby home from the hospital
- Backyard fireworks on the 4th of July
- Christmas decorations
- Easter egg hunts
If you have any footage like this, or other interesting 1950s films, contact our history curators at by e-mail at collections@ohiohistory.org or by telephone at (614) 297-2535.
We will copy the film and return the originals to you. Color footage is highly preferred. We can take 8mm or 16mm films.

Can we get digital copies of the duplicated footage that we bring in?
Hello,
Our staff will review footage to see what we can potentially use. We can provide a copy of any footage that is duplicated for the exhibit.
