UPDATE
Due technical problems caused by a weather related power outage, there is a delay in our new Online Collections Catalog going online. The old catalog is still available for now. We will let you know when we expect the new catalog to go live.
Starting July 1, the Ohio Historical Society’s online collections catalog (OCC) will have a new look. Through the months of July, August, and September, you will notice changes to the OCC as we move to our new system.
What will be different?
On July 1, the new OCC will have two search options:
*Library and Newspapers
*Manuscripts, Audio/Visual, and State Archives
For complete information about our holdings regarding a specific topic, we recommend using both search options.
In August we will be adding a third search option:
*Museum Collections
In September we will be adding a new, user-friendly front page that will allow you to search across all collections at one time.
You will also be able to limit your search to specific types of collections — like newspapers, or manuscripts, or archaeology collections — from the front page.
Why are we changing the OCC?
Our new online collections catalog will provide better search options, which will return more useful search results for our users.
The new system will also improve our ability to manage collections behind the scenes, helping us to make more collections information accessible to the public.
Please bear with us!
We know that the transition period over the next several months will be challenging.
