Thanks to some generous donors the Ohio Historical Society has received some wonderful comic books for its upcoming exhibit on the 1950s.
Few people know this but Superman was created right here in Cleveland, Ohio, regardless of his Kryptonian ancestry. The 50s were part of the golden age of comics; many modern superheroes have their roots in the 50s. Not only did 50s kids have great comics, but toys like silly putty, the Slinky, Play-Doh, the Hula-Hoop, Barbie, Matchbox cars, Metal House robots and Topps baseball cards all got their starts in the 50s.
The Ohio Historical Society is seeking examples of 1950s toys, comics, furniture, and other household goods for use in the upcoming exhibit. If you have something would like to donate please contact us at: email@example.com.
