Serpent Mound Recognized As Great Wonder Of Ancient World in a special edition of National Geographic magazine.
Serpent Mound sits on a plateau overlooking the Brush Creek Valley in Adams County, Ohio. The serpent, which is nearly a quarter mile long, is the largest serpent effigy in the United States. The mound and surrounding land has been a public park for more than a century and there is a small museum on the premises. There is still time this year to visit. It will be open 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturdays and Sundays through December 19.
