Government Services June 2010 Report

In June State Archives staff transferred 44 series of local government records from Ohio University.  Included were records from Athens, Gallia, Lawrence, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Perry, and Washington counties.  Among the records transferred to the Ohio Historical Society were:

  • Athens County.  Clerk of Courts: Naturalization Petitions, 1911-1969
  • Lawrence County.  Probate Court: Birth Record, 1867-1890
  • Lawrence County.  Probate Court: Death Record, 1867-1888
  • Perry County.  Probate Court: Birth Record, 1867-1908
  • Perry County.  Probate Court: Death Record, 1867-1908
  • Washington County.  Probate Court: Birth Record, 1867-1914
  • Washington County.  Probate Court: Death Record, 1867-1908
  • Washington County.  Probate Court: Marriage Record, 1789-1918

These records have been cataloged by State Archives staff and bibliographic descriptions are available in the Ohio Historical Society’s Online Collection Catalog.  

The following record series transferred from state agencies have been processed and cataloged by State Archives staff and bibliographic descriptions are available in the Ohio Historical Society’s Online Collection Catalog:

  • Ohio Department of Transportation: Ohio Rail Development Commission Studies and Reports, 1975-1999 (State Archives Series 7256)
  • Secretary of State: Petitions for Statewide Issues, 1986 (State Archives Series 7265)
  • Secretary of State: Petitions of Candidates, 1972-1996 (State Archives Series 7296)
